Reverse Phone Check:

I received a call from this number yesterday, the caller identified himself as a Chase Fraud Dept. rep, and I do have a disputed case with one of their credit cards. However, the caller was obnoxious, rude, and so unprofessional we did not get anything resolved and I had to call my home branch to follow up. Chase has major problems with their customer relationships if this is the type of individual they rely on to interface with their loyal customers.
This is Chase Credit Card fraud department.  Pick it up!  I did a dispute and they didnt get the form so they were checking to see if I sent it in!
I ignored a call from this number and found myself here out of curiosity. I had just bought gold coins online and declined the Verified by Visa window that popped up asking for my partial SS number, email and phone number. I just closed that window because I didn't want to sign up for any of Chases'nebulous security crap. You're now supposed to create and remember a U/P every time you shop online. No thanks Chase - making me jump through hoops to protect your bottom line.
Follow up from above. I called the number on the back of my Chase Visa card and indeed there was a security hold on my card. They lifted it for me on once they verified the last transaction of gold coins. After I had fully checked out of my online purchase a popup window asked for SS#, email etc and I thought it looked unnecessary and possibly bogus. I closed this extra window and Visa automatically locked my card FFS. It's a new (to me) layer of password security Visa is implementing adding another dimension of time consuming, password-remembering annoyance to your life - as a 'benefit' to you of course.
It's legit.  I received from 224-222-5000 with a voicemail with information about my account with Chase and telling me to call back at 800-955-9060.  But to be sure it was legit, I called them at the number on the back of my credit card.  They said my account was compromised and closed my account.  Will be sending me a new card with new account #.But advice for anyone, if you are ever suspicious, you don't call the number they tell you to call.  Call a number you know is correct, e.g. the number on the actual credit card, statement, or find on their website.  If it's the wrong dept. they should get you to the right one.  And if you are paranoid and think they even tapped your phone, use a different one.  haha!
I've read so many comments stating that this number is a scam that I was about to just not call or do anything. I did however decide to call the number on the back of my Chase credit card to verify that there wasn't any issues and I found out that the 224 number is in fact a Chase number and they did want to verify some usages on my card. If you don't feel comfortable calling the number they leave you, just call the number on your card - simple!!
Received call for another person I do not know regarding a settlement. I am an attorney but do not know or represent the peron's acct referenced?  Does anyone know anything about thisv
Received call for another person I do not know regarding a settlement. I am an attorney but do not know or represent the peron's acct referenced?  Does anyone know anything about this? They said they were from Chase re amazon platinum card.
First I want to say that I NEVER trust numbers I do not recognize. 99% of the time, I do not even answer if I do not recognize the number. My husband's phone rang with this number: 224-222-5000. It only said Illinois. We do not live in Illinois and did not know who it was. Then right afterward, my phone rang. I did not answer. There was no voice-mail left for either of us. I asked my husband if he recognized the number and he said No. I decided to call it and it did sound very strange. It asked to press '2' if we want to be taken off the call list. I figured it was some telemarketers or scam artists. They did say automated however, that they were CHASE. I have been a victim of identity theft in the past so I was concerned. I decided to call Chase directly- the number on the back of my card. This is what I highly recommend! People, this is NOT a scam. I do not work for the company nor would I condone or advocate people being stolen from. I would recommend not speaking to anyone from the 224 number not because they are not legit, but because it fuels rumors like we see here- that it is a scam and I see why people think so, but that information is NOT correct! Call Chase DIRECTLY so you can feel assured that everything is okay. I called Chase and they had indeed called and it was to confirm that some recent purchases were actually legit! If you have made any purchases on your card in the last 24-48 hours online or in a store, then it makes perfect sense. You really do need to call and verify. If you have not, that is even MORE REASON to call. It means someone has gotten your information and is having a shopping spree at your expense. Credit card fraud is on the rise due to hard economic times. Take this very seriously, guys. If you do not trust the number, fine, don't call it back or talk to them but PLEASE call your chase company directly and they will verify it. That way, no harm no foul and I agree- NEVER give your SS number to anyone you are not familiar with. I think Chase should get rid of this strange automated number and call from a number that either A.) Has a better answering service so it sounds more legit as well as a full explanation as to what is going on or B.) Just don't ask for the SS number. They should already have your SS number and it is not safe to give that out over the phone.Regards.
real call... real department... real fraud (they found) stupid f***ing proceedure!
PEOPLE.. THIS IS NOT A SCAM..  I FIRST RECVD. A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER (224-222-5000) AND I WASN'T SURE WHO IT WAS SO I DIDN'T PICK UP.. THEY LEFT A MESSAGE STATING THEY WERE CHASE FRAUD DEPT. AND TO CALL THEM BACK AT 800-955-9060... I JUST CALLED THIS NUMBER BACK AND WAS SUSPICIOUS AND DIDN'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO.  I ASKED THEM WHO THEY WERE AND THEY SAID THEY WERE CHASE LOAN SERVICES OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.  I TOLD THE REP. THAT I WASN'T COMFORTABLE GIVING HIM INFO BECAUSE THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED ABOUT CALLING THIS NUMBER BACK (800-955-9060), I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS LEGIT OR NOT.  THE REP TOLD ME THAT IF I WASN'T COMFORTABLE THEN FOR ME TO JUST CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF MY CARD.  HE WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING.  SO I CALLED THE BACK OF MY CARD AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY TRANSFERRED TO THE FRAUD DEPT. AFTER SOME VERIFICATIONS, IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE WAS MAKING FRAUDULANT CHARGES ON MY CARD AFTER ALL.. THE SCAM IS THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING THE CHARGES PEOPLE.. WHAT THEY DO IS THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD 1 DOLLAR FOR AN ONLINE PURCHASE(PROBABLY TO SOME MADE UP COMPANY OF THEIRS) AND PLACE AN AUTHORIZATION CHARGE ON YOUR ACCOUNT, THEN LATER THEY WILL CHARGE YOU MORE.. ALL THIS WAS DONE WHILE I WAS SLEEPING THIS MORNING.. PUNKS.. ANYWAYS.. CHASE CANCELED MY CARD AND WILL BE SENDING ME NEW ONES..  I LOVE CHASE.. THEY ARE THE BEST..
Got a call at work from this number, did not answer.  Then they called my cell.  When the lady started to introduce herself she talked so fast that I did not catch where she was calling from.  When I asked for her to please repeat what she just said, she sarcastically asked me if I needed an interpreter!!!!!!  HOW RUDE!!!!  (I was born and raised in California!)...so I hung up on her.Legitimate or not, the caller was very rude.  I don't need that at 8:30 AM!I agree with above comments that if you see a positive feedback, it's probably from the scammers themselves.Good luck to everyone.
For sure a scam, They called and said they were from the "fraud dept." ase=ked me for previous addresses and said they couldnt read my SS# and needed it. I did open a chase credit card recently so that bank needs to keep their records more secure and no one should know that I opened a card w that bank!!
A call came into my home with that telephone # close to midnight last night.  On the caller I/D it said "Chase".  She gave her name from Chase and asked for me by name.  I called Chase today, as I am a Chase customer, and they do not have any division or department with that phone number.
This IS a scam number! I believe those two a**holes above work for the scammers and are pushing it. I called Chase directly and both parties, including 1 from the Fraud dept directly, told me it was definitely Phishing.
got this call gave them some info I think I got scammed anybody else get scammed
It is the Chase Fraud Dept. Our account was compromised, they called to verify charges and to lock down the account. I am very pleased with how quickly they responded and took care of this problem before we even realized it was an issue.  They never asked for a complete SSN during the initial call. Only on subsequent calls that we placed to the main number on the back of the card did they ask for the full SSN.
Yes,Just filled out an application for the arts institute and they called just now.  I don't like those crazy #'s but I am glad you ladies and gentlemen have cued me in.  If you find out how to stop it,please let me know.
Hello Everyone in Cyberspace!  Just like you, I receive these calls everyday and yes its Colorado Technical Institute.  I'm sure many have applied for jobs online and never received any response from the job advertiser and somehow you get the annoying calls from the 224 number.I went to the Colorado Technical Institute website and clicked the link to Colorado Tech Online.  I called 1-800-416-8904 for Admissions.  I spoke with a representative.  I'm not sure if she's one of the representatives or main receptionists.  I told her that I was receiving numerous calls and I wanted my name to be removed from the list.  She took my telephone number and said it should be removed in 24 hours.  Let's see what happens after 24 hours.  So if this doesn't work guys at least there is a solid point of contact and you can complain to the Federal Trade Commission.  After everyone receives the telephone number above, I think that Colorado Tech Online will find another alternative route where the telephone is not involved.  Just dial the number above and ask them to remove your name from the list, if it doesn't work at least you know whom to contact to stop the harrassment.  So sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful karma.  Phone calls will be pouring in to all admissions reps asking to have their names removed.  I'm sure they are not going to have a good time with this and they will feel what it's like to be on the other end of being constantly called and harrassed.Your CyberPal Bugs Bunny Esquire at Your Service
Thanks to all the other comments, I know I'm not alone in the harassment from this number! They call several times a day! Everyday! I've even tried answering and blowing on a whistle. They still keep calling. I wish it would stop!!
